Israeli-German Relations
The FES Israel office, one of 70 representations world-wide, occupies a particularly important position. The legacy of the Holocaust makes it vital not only to study and debate the most tragic period in European history; it also requires exchange and dialogue on many different levels between German and Israeli societies. Dedicated to the values of the Labour Movement and Social Democracy, FES has for ever 30 years sought to foster co-operation between the civil societies of both countries. Special importance is attached to facilitating dialogue and exchange between Israeli Knesset Members and parliamentarians of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD).
In addition, the FES operates as a think-tank by: * Providing key Israeli and German decision-makers with political analysis on current issues * Organising seminars and lectures about Germany in Israel and about Israel in Germany * Facilitating exchange programs, with special attention to young people, tomorrow's decision-makers
